Grundfos and Abtin expand Iran DBS training
Grundfos and local partner Abtin upped their focus on Iran’s Domestic Building Service (DBS) market during May with two further training events at Chaloos, a popular vacation destination in the country’s Mazanderan Province.
Spread over two days, 28/29th May, the events were designed to increase knowledge and awareness of Grundfos’ domestic pump range amongst sub-dealers and installers, as well as dealers staff, in this region of northern Iran – currently the country’s biggest market for cold water products.
The first of the two events, aimed at Abtin’s sub-dealers and installers, provided an overview of Grundfos’ premium range of DBS pumps and accessories, with a special focus on the more popular circulator and pressure boosting pumps that manage incoming supplies as well as drainage and waste-water pumps for efficient handling of used domestic water.
Combining presentations by experts from Grundfos and Abtin, with a workshop session which gave the trainees the opportunity to see and handle for themselves many of the technologically advanced pump systems, the event included an engaging installer championship, which proved to be a highlight of the day for many of those present.
The time challenge required Installers to assemble and install a pump in a typical domestic setting, with marks gained for demonstrating best practice techniques and for speed of completion. The top installers were then shortlisted for a final time trial, with prizes awarded for the first to complete the task correctly.
For the second event, the location moved to the premises of one of Abtin’s local dealers, Tamshad Company, for a dealer training day with sales and service staff from local distributors and sub-dealers, during which DBS servicing and product knowledge provided the key focus.
With the training sessions deliberately informal and plenty of opportunity to ask questions and discuss issues on a one-to-one basis with specialists from Grundfos and Abtin, feedback for both events was very positive, with attendees engaging fully in the proceedings and appreciative of the content, which would help them to provide a more professional and informed service to their customers.
Indeed, so impressed were the attendees at the dealer training day that they have asked Grundfos if the event can be staged on a regular basis to help new staff and keep existing staff up-to-date with new developments in the growing domestic pump market.
